Communications

Every message your customers expect, sent automatically.

Profile reminders, order receipts, game-day texts, match notifications, weekly recaps. The messages that keep an event business running, built into TNFM. Plus templates, bulk email, and two-way SMS for the times you write your own.

Trusted by IRL event brands from Los Angeles to Charlotte, Indianapolis, and beyond.
Communications · The shared layer

Built into every TNFM product, not a separate purchase.

Communications is not a SKU you bolt on. Templates and email are included with TNFM events and leagues, full stop. The only paid add-on is SMS, because the carriers charge us per message and we pass that through honestly. One tool. One login. One bill.

The communications engine

Three channels. One template. One audit log.

Every message, system-generated or hand-written, goes out through the same pipeline. Same templates, same recipient targeting, same variable interpolation, same delivery log. You do not pick between the email tool and the SMS tool. There is just one tool.

01 · Email

Rich-text emails that arrive looking like emails.

Drag-and-drop template editor, Mustache-style variable interpolation, SendGrid delivery. Bulk-send to thousands of recipients in one operation, or hand-craft a single one. Receipts, recaps, broadcasts, all the same engine.

02 · SMS and two-way

Texts that reach phones in seconds, and accept replies.

SignalWire or Twilio delivery, carrier-compliance baked in. Two-way means your customers can text you back. Replies land in your inbox, threaded by person and by event. $29 per month, 200 messages included.

03 · In-app

Notifications without burning a carrier message.

In-product alerts for the things that do not need to interrupt anybody: your match has been revealed, schedule updated, captain assigned. Free, fast, and inside the experience your customers are already in.

Out of the box

A library of messages that just work, day one.

These are the system messages that ship with TNFM. Every one is configured, branded, and active the moment you turn on the relevant product. No email-builder marathons. No phase two.

EMAIL After event · mutual match

Match notification

"You and {{matchName}} both said yes. Here's how to connect; exchange details on your timing."

SMS T-2h · event-day

Event-day reminder

"{{firstName}}, Speed Dating tonight 7pm @ Loquita Venice. See you there. Reply STOP to opt out."

EMAIL On signup

RSVP confirmation

"You are in for {{eventName}}. Here is everything you need: date, venue, dress code, what to bring."

EMAIL On purchase

Order receipt and tickets

"Order #{{orderId}} · {{amount}}. Your tickets are attached as QR codes. Show this email at the door."

EMAIL On refund

Refund confirmation

"Your refund for {{eventName}} has been processed, {{amount}} back to your card. Allow five to ten business days."

EMAIL On transfer

Ticket claim link

"{{senderName}} sent you a ticket to {{eventName}}. Click to claim and add your details."

SMS T-2h · game-day

Game-day reminder

"Game tonight 7pm @ Field 3, vs {{opponent}}. Wear neon. Captain: {{captainPhone}}"

EMAIL Monday AM

Weekly recap

"Wk {{week}}: {{topTeam}} stays undefeated. Standings, top performers, what is next."

EMAIL Each week · captains

Captain opponent intro

"Next week you're playing {{opponent}}. Their captain: {{captainName}}, {{captainPhone}}."

Twelve shown · more in the platform. You can disable any, edit copy, or layer your own on top.

When you write your own

Four tools for the messages you craft yourself.

The automated stuff handles the volume. These are the surfaces you use when you are personally composing: a season-end thank-you, a one-off announcement, a follow-up to no-shows.

Templates

Drag-and-drop editor with smart variables.

Build email templates the way you would build a doc: rich text, blocks, images. Insert Mustache-style variables ({{firstName}}, {{eventDate}}, {{captainName}}, anything we know about the recipient), and they fill in at send time. Save as drafts, review, publish.

Rich-text + drag-and-drop blocks
Mustache variable interpolation
Draft / review / publish workflow
Bulk email

Send to one segment or thousands at once.

Pick a template (or write fresh), pick a segment, schedule the send. Filter recipients by event, registration, attendance, behavior, anything in the platform. Hit go. SendGrid handles delivery; you watch open and click rates roll in.

Bulk send to thousands in one click
Schedule for any date or time
Open and click tracking
SMS and two-way

Texts that actually feel like a conversation.

Send game-day texts, ticket alerts, last-minute changes, and your customers can text back. Replies land in a threaded inbox, grouped by person and by event. STOP and HELP keyword handling built in for carrier compliance. $29 per month, first 200 messages included.

Threaded inbox per recipient and event

SignalWire and Twilio delivery
Segments and filtering

Reach the exact people who need to hear from you.

Filter recipients by anything in the platform: event, attendance, registration status, profile answer, refund history, behavior. Registered for Spring Kickball but missed last week. Attended three or more matchmaking events. Save segments, reuse them, layer them.

Compound filters (AND, OR, NOT)
Saved segments reusable across channels
Custom segments per event type
Everything in the box

Twelve things you would otherwise wire together yourself.

The platform is broader than this list. Here is what stops you from needing Mailchimp, Twilio, Customer.io, and a custom in-app notification system glued on top.

Channels

Email · SMS · in-app

Three channels in one tool. Pick per send, or use system defaults. No separate vendor logins.

Channels

Two-way SMS replies

Recipients text you back. Replies are threaded by person and event, surfaced in your operator inbox.

Channels

Carrier-compliant SMS

STOP and HELP keyword handling, rate-limiting, and opt-out tracking, all built in. You will not get blacklisted.

Templates

Drag-and-drop email editor

Blocks for headings, images, buttons, columns. Looks like an email the moment it lands.

Templates

Mustache variables

{{firstName}}, {{eventName}}, {{teamName}}, {{captainPhone}}, anything on the recipient or event record.

Templates

Draft → review → publish

Save versions, send test sends, get a sign-off before broadcast. No accidental send to 2k people.

Sends

Recipient segments

Filter by event, status, attendance, custom answers, behavior. Compound AND, OR, NOT operators; save the segment.

Sends

Scheduled sends

Compose now, send Monday 9am. Cron-scheduled at the platform level, no third-party trigger flakiness.

Sends

Email sequences

Automated cadences: T-7d, T-2d, T-2h reminders, no-show follow-ups, post-event NPS. Define once, runs forever.

Ops

Delivery audit log

Every send timestamped with recipient, channel, content, delivery state. Customer says they did not get it; you can prove otherwise.

Ops

Open and click tracking

See open rates, click rates, unsubscribes per send. Roll up to engagement reports across campaigns.

Ops

System messages on by default

Order receipts, match notifications, game-day reminders, all configured and active out of the gate. Customize copy if you want.

Who this is for

Three kinds of operators show up here.

Communications comes with every TNFM customer. The conversation depends on what you are currently stitching together.

For the consolidation buyer

Paying Mailchimp, Twilio, and a custom widget every month.

Three logins, three bills, three places copy can drift out of sync. Communications collapses them into one: same template, same segments, same delivery log. Drop the other tools.

For the manual sender

Still copy-pasting reminders into individual emails.

You have been getting away with it because your customer count fit in your head. It does not anymore. Turn on the system messages and reclaim three hours a week.

For the brand-careful operator

Every send needs to feel on-brand, not vendor-templated.

Customize every system message, layer your own templates, use your own domain on sends. Recipients see your name in the from line. Always.

Pricing

Email is free. SMS is honest.

If you are using TNFM for events or leagues, templates and email come with the package. No add-on charge. SMS is $29 per month with 200 messages included, because the carriers charge us per message and we do not mark it up.

FAQs

The questions we get on every call.

More on the contact page. If yours isn't here, ask on the call.

Can I customize what the automated messages say?
Yes, every one. The defaults are tuned to be brand-neutral and conversational, but every system message is just a template you can open, edit, send a test, and publish. You can also disable any message you do not want to send.
Can I send from my own domain?
Yes. Email comes from your domain (with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC set up during onboarding) so deliverability stays high and recipients see your name in the from line. SMS originates from a number we configure in your name.
What happens if I go over 200 SMS messages in a month?
SMS overage is passed through at carrier cost (about $0.01 per message in the US), no markup. You will see overage on your next invoice itemized by event and date. Heavy SMS users sometimes prefer to pre-pay for a larger bucket; ask on the call if that fits you.
Can recipients reply to my SMS messages?
Yes, that is the two-way part. Replies land in a threaded inbox in your operator dashboard, grouped by person and by event. You can reply from there, or your team can. STOP and HELP keyword handling is built in to stay carrier-compliant.
What about people who don't want texts?
Opt-outs are honored at the platform level. Reply STOP from any TNFM number and they will not get another SMS from us, across events, leagues, and matchmaking. They still get email unless they unsubscribe from that separately.
Can I build email sequences (T-7d / T-2d / day-of reminders)?
Yes. Email sequences are part of the included email package. Define a cadence once (for example: registered, reminder T-7d, reminder T-2d, day-of), pick the trigger, and the sequence runs against every matching event going forward.
Is Communications sold standalone?
No. It is the messaging layer for TNFM events, leagues, and ticketing. Without one of those products, there is nothing to message about, so we do not sell it on its own.
Stop renting four tools to send one email

One messaging layer. Built into the platform you already need.

Thirty minutes. We will walk through the system-message library, the template editor, a two-way SMS thread, and how segments compose across an event, a league, and a ticket sale.
